Proliant ML350 G3 server and USB 72gb dat tape drive
I have a Proliant ML350 G3 server and when the 24gb tape drive died I replaced it with a 72gb dat usb tape drive. The unit under Windows 2000 Server recognizes the new tape drive but when I reboot the server it will not reboot untill I remove the USB cable to the tape drive. Any Ideas.

Only the SCSI based tape drives are listed in the product QuickSpecs:

This table gives you precise info what is & what isn't supported:

Your config is NOT supported.

Re: Proliant ML350 G3 server and USB 72gb dat tape drive
Thanks for the info, I should have checked that, however, I have got it working by moving the boot order, it treats the USB tape drive like a bootable CDRom drive with no boot disk available, by moving it to boot from the hard drive first it bypasses this problem and works just fine. I am sure a simple BIOS entry would fix this problem.
Thanks
