Proliant ML350 G4 do not start

trouble with power
when connect power picture like the power go to protect... on pin 20 in power supply connectors (P2), on pin 21 (in P1) and pin 4,8 (on P3 - come to HDD) bp jump from 1,5V to 0V

But if no CPU, on it's pin 5V
if it's popular trouble, pleasure answer!
P.S. Sorry for my language

Hi, is the server powering on? If it is, do you have any amber LEDs on the Internal Health or External Health?

Or, are you referring to the LEDs on the system board?

Exterior led:
power led - On (AC power available)
exterrnal health(power) LED - Green (Power supply OK)
internal health led - green 2 sec., then Red 5 sec...

Re: Proliant ML350 G4 do not start

Ok, in that case, is there an amber LED on system board? May be next to memory, processor or PPM (processor power module)?

Any error displayed on screen, or is it blank?

Try the minimum hardware configuration, for e.g. single CPU & 2 DIMMs.

Try the system maintenance switch (SW6) to clear CMOS and try again.

If you need more information check the maintenance & service guide at:

"Ok, in that case, is there an amber LED on system board? May be next to memory, processor or PPM (processor power module)?"
Processor 1 & 2 LEDs a flash

"Any error displayed on screen, or is it blank? "
screen is blank

"Try the minimum hardware configuration, for e.g. single CPU & 2 DIMMs. "
it has only 1 CPU & 2 DIMMs

"Try the system maintenance switch (SW6) to clear CMOS and try again." - it's my first step =)

Have question! if only 1 CPU, may I install it to second socket, not in first?

Re: Proliant ML350 G4 do not start

You will need 1 Processor installed in the first slot.

Is there a known good processor & PPM so we can rule out whether the issue is with the processor slot on system board or the CPU itself?

However, if amber LED blinks next to both processor, it is unlikely to be a CPU failure.

Re: Proliant ML350 G4 do not start

I haven't another CPU, that's why i ask here...
PCI post card i can't use, because in ml350 only pci-x slots..

Re: Proliant ML350 G4 do not start

"However, if amber LED blinks next to both processor, it is unlikely to be a CPU failure."

As you see inside quotes, it is very hard to say whether it is the process, PPM or the system board. However, we assume that both processors or PPMs can't be faulty at the same time. So, we have to suspect the system board.
