Proliant ML350 Server LED problem

We have replaced both the cpu fan and system fan recently on this server. The red LED light has now come on again which indicates an "internal health" LED issue. How do you determine what the problem is? Nothing is appearing in the event viewer.

Re: Proliant ML350 Server LED problem

Hi,

By event viewer do u mean windows event viewer or the IML ?

If the OS is up and running and u have PSP installed most probably the error will be indicated in the IML Viewer.

Start->Program Files->HP System Tools->Integrated Management Log

Or you can check from within the System Management Homepage.

What generation does your ML350 belong to ?

Shiraj.

Re: Proliant ML350 Server LED problem

Hi,

if the internal health LED is red, then on the system board the causing component's LED will be red too. Open the chassis and check which LED is on... Internall LEd points to CPU/DIMM/Fan/PPM/Overheat issue. You can connect to the iLO if configured and check if there are any entries in the Integrated Management Log(IML).

Re: Proliant ML350 Server LED problem

While at work today our server also has developed this fault. not knowing much about server's & both our IT resources closed for the weekend until 7am tommorrow, i'd be grateful for an suggestions as to why our Internal Health light on the front of the server is at RED! The server is trying to powerup but nothing appears on the monitor & the fan is very loud. All cables are connected from what I can see & there is certainly power. Many thanks in advance - Tracey
