Proliant ML350T01 Raid Upgrade

I need to increase storage space in my ML350T01 and I have 3 HD 176496-B22 of 36.4 Gb each. Is it possible upgrade the raid installing new 286713-b22 Ultra320 SCSI HD?

Thanks

Re: Proliant ML350T01 Raid Upgrade

These new 36GB U320 drives are supported in any ML/DL class Proliant server but will only run at Ultra3 speeds in the ML350G1 since the drive cage backplane doesn't support U320 speeds (not even when you have an Ultra320 controller).
With the latest G3/G2 generations, the drive cages have been upgraded to U320.

Re: Proliant ML350T01 Raid Upgrade

If the DL580-G1 has a Smart Array controller (usually the embedded ROC chip) and the DL580-G2 has the embedded SA-5i, all drives can easily be transported and will boot in the new server.
These drives will work at U3 speeds since the 5i is an Ultra-3 controller. If you only have SCSI controllers, the drives will work as well but you'll probably have to backup/restore.
