Proliant Microserver recovery takes very long

I'm running HP Proliant Microserver (AHCI) latest FW Server 2008 R2 EN
System running on one internal SATA Disk
Windows Server 2008 Backuptarget second internal SATA Disk.

starting two backups in windows:
wbadmin start backup -allcritical -include:c: -backupTarget:\\SERVER\SHARE -quiet

AND

wbadmin start backup -allcritical -include:c: -backupTarget:x: -quiet

(where x:\ is the backup drive).

If i boot from installation dvd and select systemrecovery the restore from the internal backup source takes >4 hours

if i select the Networkshare for backupsource the restore needs ~15min.

The Data is ~15GB.

does anybody has experience similar behaviour?

Re: Proliant Microserver recovery takes very long

just switched the BIOS from AHCI to IDE. After that the restore is fast as expected from the local backup disk.

Looks like the FW or Storage Driver needs an upgrade.
