I have a Proliant 360 running Linux and am mirroring the root drives. I would like to take one of the drives out (break the mirror) and put it away for safe keeping. I would like to put in another drive(same capacity but higher RPM) in it's place. Will this cause any problems? Drive sizes are the same (both 72GB SAS drives) but when I'm done, one will be a 10K and the other 15K.
Thank you!

Solution
first, when taking out a drive to have it has a back-up (i always do that when updating things, i use it like ....a snapshot comparing it with virtualization) turn off the server.
second, an array can mix different drives speedsand sizes.
keep in mind: -- the overall drive size will be determined by the smallest disk drive.
-- the array speed will match the slowest disk drive.
