Proliant Storage Enclosure Problem
We just acquired an old 1600 from a company that went out of business. We added a 3200 Smart Array Controller. Once we created the array using RAID 0 +1 and re booted the server we got an error that reads as follows:
"1777 - Slot 5 Drive Array - Proliant Storage Enclosure Problem Detected.
SCSI Port 1: Wide SCSI Transfer Failed - Check SCSI Cables"
We checked all connections. We tried swapping the drives but the error still pointed to Port 1. We even went so far as to swap the storage enclosure with another one from a different 1600 but still the exact same error message.
Next, we tried upgrading the boos. We added SP15911 to the boos on the server but still no change.
Other than the error we have not seen any problems. We would like to install the I/I (TN 4.0 sp6) but we are afraid to go any further because we feel that inevitably we will end up with something failing on us in production.
What can we do to fix the problem? What is the problem?
Thanks!
David

boos = bios
I/I = O/S
Sorry for the confussion.
