Proliant Support Pack Windows 2003 v7.20: 'Old' NIC driver ?

Hi,
I just downloaded PSP 7.20 for Windows 2003 and noticed the following;

The HP NC10xx/67xx/77xx/150x/320x Gigabit Ethernet NIC Driver for Windows Server 2003 are not updated within this pack while on Windows Update they are.

PSP 7.20 = v7.80
WindUpdate = v7.96

Should I stick to PSP version or use the new one?
(I am integrating PSP within my Win2003 unattended install)

Re: Proliant Support Pack Windows 2003 v7.20: 'Old' NIC driver ?

I downloaded the package from WindowsUpdate;

Named:
cp005118.exe
Extracted but when using setup.exe it says it is for Windows 2003. Using manual driver update function in Windows updating does work. Package does contain Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 driver versions.

From cp005118.xml ..
Strange:

'Releasenotes:'
Resolved an issue where sideband firmware stops responding when the server goes into hibernation.

Guess it's not so badly needed?? ;-)

Also found on WindowsUpdate;

HP Network Configuration Utility 7 for Windows Server 2003 version 7.85.

Package:
cp005095.exe

Also not incuded in PSP 7.20.

releasenotes;

Added additional Active Path features to the Network Configuration Utility.
The manual switch to properly work in an NFT when there is an 10/100 NIC in the team. The ranking logic so that the Primary will not change if the only reason is Aggregation

Also mentioned version 8?;

This driver now supports the new RDMA-capable NICs.

*shame on me*

Ofcourse these drivers could also be found on the 'software and drivers' page of HP Proliant support.

But nonetheless beware that the newer NIC drivers aren't installed with PSP 7.20.
Mostly they are in sync though when a new PSP is released.
