Proliant Support Pack for Server 2008R2

I am deploying Server 2008R2 on a DL380G5 and am at the point where I need to install the Proliant Support Pack. I see the ONLY version listed is 8.30, I have 8.25 deployed throughout my organization (350+ servers) and also have insight manager, SIM and Openview agents, so if I install the 8.30 on this server, it will not report properly to my SIM server and others. I am asking if I can install the 2008 non-r2 x64 version of the support pack that is available in 8.25 version. Will this work or not?

R2 has different kernel than non-R2, so it's hard to tell exactly if it will work or not. What version of SIM are you using?

hi,

R2 is only 64 bit, som i will not recommend it,

but in your case i would install PSP 8.30.

You must not have read my post, I mentioned specifically using the PSP 8.25 for Windows 2008 non-R2 x64, I know R2 is 64 bit only... Anyone from HP care to comment?

I wish you luck with either, we have been unable to reliably install 2008R2 on DL380G5's (with or without the PSP.) with the 8.7 BIOS (The minimum supported with 2008R2), we keep running into the drive arrays going offline either immediately after OS installation or shortly after we start using the box.
