Proliant ml110 G5 RAID 1 Migration to higher capacity drive
Hi,
I have a server with two old 250 GB drives configured RAID 1. I've run out of disk space, I want to remove the old ones and replace them with two new 500 GB drives. How I can do it without reinstalling the OS?.

Re: Proliant ml110 G5 RAID 1 Migration to higher capacity drive
The ML110 G5 ships with a software based RAID contrller. Unlike the Smart Array controller which allows a migration path to larger drives, I don't think this is possible with the software based controller in that server. If your system has had an optional Smart Array controller installed, as long as it has the BBWC you should be able to migrate to larger drives.
This document explains how to expand a Smart Array:

Re: Proliant ml110 G5 RAID 1 Migration to higher capacity drive
Hello Jimmy,
My server uses the HP Embedded SATA RAID Controller and I also think it is not possible to migrate the array.
I will build a new array with the new drives in ports 3 and 4 for more disk space.
Thanks
