Proper steps to replace failed drive
Hello, I have an external drive array attached to a 3200 Controller card. It contains 12 18.2-GB drives. One of my drives has apparently failed, and I would like to know the correct process to replace this drive. The logical drive continues to function normally in Interim Recovery Mode.
I know it should be hot pluggable and a simple thing to do, but I have not done this before so if someone could outline the steps I would appreciate it! Thanks-
Angie Graves

Re: Proper steps to replace failed drive
They are hot pluggable - you can remove the old drive and replace it with the server/storage cabinet running. However, I do recommend that you power down the storage cabinet and the server, replace the drive, then power the storage cabinet and the server back up - then select that you want to rebuild when prompted on POST.
