Purchasing and Installing VRM, Proliant 2500
Compaq Proliant 2500
I have obtained a second processor that I have been previously assured is compatible for dual processing. Both processors have the same stepping, and Intel says they should work together.
I need to find out what this business about a voltage regulator is. All I was told by Intel is that it is necessary for the second processor, and that they are specific to each motherboard.
I don't know what the VRM is, how to isntall it, or which one to buy for the Proliant 2500.
If anyone could help out, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Purchasing and Installing VRM, Proliant 2500
Hello Alexander,
The Voltage regulator Module P/N you need is 225529-001 which can be purchased by calling one of the following phone nos:
Spare Parts Purchasing from Compaq
1-800-848-4589
Option Parts Purchasing from Compaq
1-800-888-9909
The purpose of this Voltage regulator module is to make sure that CPU is getting proper Voltage for the CPU to function properly. Usually they are located very close to where CPU is installed.
I hope this helps.
