Query the SCSI bus for HDD on Proliant from DOS

Query the SCSI bus for HDD on Proliant from DOS

I am wondering if anyone knows of a utility HP or otherwise that I can run via dos to query the disk types and id on the bus of proliant ML/DL servers and return a text file etc.

I am attempting to build logic to determine what disk config to use based on what is found. I will then pass this to conrep, acr etc....

Help anyone?

Re: Query the SCSI bus for HDD on Proliant from DOS

hi,

do u happen to have survey utility from Smartstart? If you have that, run it and a text file with all the hardware (everything u need to know about the scsi bus and disk) and software info should be located in c:\compaq\survey\survey.txt.

not too sure what your OS is but for windows 2k and 2003, u may download the utility from:

http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/19002.html

regards.

Re: Query the SCSI bus for HDD on Proliant from DOS

I appreciate your response, however....

I am booting from a "DOS" boot disk (as per the title of the post), I want to run a utility from DOS that will query the disk sizes and locations in the chassis,

I do not have the luxury of a Win32 environment at this boot point.
