1) 7.40 will work on DL380 G3 server as well

2) One of the reasons why firmware maintenance cd "don't detect" SmartArray controller - you already have last firmware for SmartArray.
firmware maintenance CD detect only hardware with outdated firmware.
Check firmware version you have for SmartArray controller (you see firmware version during POST proccess) - probably you already have last version
3) NIC firmware - AFAIK there are no offline firmware for NIC(so you cannot update NIC firmware with firmware maintenance CD), you need to use online firmware update:
