Re: RADI5 ML350 G5

Verify everything by using the ACU. Check what the configuration is (raid5?) and how many disks are used in the raid arrays. Also check the status of all the components including the disk drives and raid LUNs. Only the ACU will show the real status not the blinking lights.

Re: RADI5 ML350 G5

Some comments to your many questions...

1. Since everything is working fine, run a complete system backup.

2. It is possible that the two partitions C=50GB and D=224GB are created on TWO disks only and the third disk failed. No loss of data. C+D=50+225=275GB. Two good disks RAID0 is 2 x 146GB = 192GB.

3. It is possible that you have raid5 on all three disks.

4. You can download and install ACU from http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=1121516&prodNameId=3288134&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-89533079b9d8428996e22f2bee

5. You can also reboot the server and while booting hit the F8 function key to get in the raid controller bios. This is similar to the ACU and you can check the status of the disks. Look in the user guide on page 28 about "F8" and ORCA. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00709040/c00709040.pdf?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

Re: RADI5 ML350 G5

Many controllers provide a default array setup based on the drives found on the first boot and with 3 drives it would default to raid 5.
1. if raid 5 then yes but you need to check.
2. the drives with the pull handles are hot swappable. Call hp and they will send one out.
