RAID 0 to RAID1 possible??

Hi,

We have a DL360G3 with single 36GB RAID 0 and want to change to RAID1 after insert a new HDD. However, no option to change to RAID1 under SmartStart, is it possible??

TIA,
Ken

Re: RAID 0 to RAID1 possible??

I think you cannot do it if your using
DL360 G3 integrated smart array controller.
See for example

Re: RAID 0 to RAID1 possible??

Yes it is possible.
So right now you have Array A with one RAID 0 Logical drive.
I am assuming your new drive is a 36 GB drive and you are using the latest ACU.
You first need to expand the Array; select the Array A in the ACU and you will have the option to Expand on the right - this involves adding the new "Unassigned" drive to Array A. Once this is done (it will take some time) you will have unused space under Array A. Now select Logical Drive 1 and you should have an option to migrate (on the right) using the unused space in the array.
ThereтАЩs your problem!!! This thing is set to EVIL!

This can be done using the ACU in the OS environment.

Re: RAID 0 to RAID1 possible??

Is it also possible to retain the data integrity of a drive yet still add a 641 controller card and additional drive to make Raid 1+0? I would like to upgrade my server without a heck of a lot of trouble backing up and restoring (just a citrix box w/ programs, but still can be tedious).

Thanks,
Chad
