RAID 1 on ML110, remove one hard disk

Hi,

I configured SATA RAID array (through F8 - Create array - Raid 1 - Warning - Yes. Now I installed Windows Server 2008 and I'd like to test mirror array with:
1) removing first disc
2) boot windows
3) add disk again (both disc connected)
4) boot windows
5) remove second disk
6) boot windows
7) add disk aggain (both disc connected)
8) boot windows

What is suggested way to do this?

p.s. 1 when boot from Easy Setup CD or Array Configuration Utility is says "cannot recognize storage"

Hi, on some of these embedded sata raid controllers the primary hdd needs to be installed for the "mirroring" to work.

What generation of the ML110 do you have?

Re: RAID 1 on ML110, remove one hard disk

Hi,
can you please explain this further?
There is mirror array and installed OS on that, so I'd like to remove one of hard disk and check if windows can boot regulary, and then repeat this step with removing another disk.

ML110 G5.

Case closed: after step 3) it is necessary to rebuild mirror from embeded RAID utility.
