RAID 5 fail after disk replacement - SCSI ID different.

Hello,

In one of our server 1 disk need to be replaced. It is RAID 5. After replacement the raid didn't start the syncronization. It remained in failed status.

Server is a PROLIANT DL380G4.

Disks:

Old disks:

BD14685A26

Advisory 286712-006 HPB7 (07/02/04) 286716-B22 289044-001

RoHS - 404708-001 FE-23027-01 146.8GB Ultra320,10K Hot-pluggable, 80 Pin, 1-inch No No

and the new is:

BD14688278

Note: Do not use kits on ML100 Series servers, see next drive below. 360205-013 HPB4 (10/24/05) 286716-B22 289044-001

RoHS - 404708-001 FE-23027-01 146.8GB Ultra320,10K Hot-pluggable, 80 Pin, 1-inch No No

Same part number. Should be the same disk.

The problem is the failed disk had SCSI ID 12. But the new got the ID 4.

I found a similar problem here:

Any idea how can i change the ID to 12 or force the raid to accept the new one instead of the old? In the ACU (newest) i only had option to add to a different array.

Production server, so i cant rebuild the raid. And can't even restart it!!!

Thanks in advance.

Krisztian.
