RAID Capacity upgrade
Hey guys, Ive got some DL380's Gen10 with the following RAID controller :
Model HPE Smart Array P408i-a SR Gen10
Firmware Version 2.65
Controller Type HPE Smart Array
Capacity 38563 GiB (Need to make this over 100TB)
Fault Tolerance RAID 5
Logical Drive Type Data LUN
Encryption Status Not Encrypted
Currently have 24X HDD's :
Model EG001800JWJNR
Media Type HDD
Capacity 1800 GB
Im trying to upgrade the storage on Logical Volume #2, (30TB - > 100+ TB) without power cycling or bringing the server/services down.
Is it possible to upgrade the total storage capacity on a physical host while not interupting the OS/Application? (not a virtualized enviroment)
If possible can anyone point me in the direction of the docs/ect so i can do a deep dive before i embark on this endeavour.
Thanks

Re: RAID Capacity upgrade
Hello,
You can expand the existing logical drive online using HPE Smart Storage Administrator(Extend the Array first and then expand the logical drive).
To check the drives criteria for this process, refer to page 77 of HPE Smart Array SR Gen10
Configuration Guide at http://itdoc.hitachi.co.jp/manuals/ha8000v/hard/Gen10/SA/882375-002_en.pdf
You can refer to Smart Storage administartor user guide and refer to Extending logical drive section at https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=c03909334.
For detailed procedure: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=mmr_sf-EN_US000010855
Smart Storage Administrator Download Link(Depending on the OS, download the installer file) : https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/km/search#q=smart%20storage%20adminstrator&t=DriversandSoftware&sort=relevancy&layout=table&numberOfResults=25
