Hi,
What is the best practice for RAID configuration?
My self, i use RAID 5 with full HDD which are installed in the server (8 bays) but somone suggested me either to use RAID6 since it allows 2 HDD failure and some suggested me to use any RAID 5 or 6 but to keep spare HDD for example if there are 8 HDD use 5 HDD for RAID 5 and the rest as spare. Im really confused, would some one explain more about the best practice for RAID config?
Thanks

SolutionHi,
I am not sure which server or Array Controller you are having. But here are two doc links which will explain about RAID.
https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c00687518

To determine which RAID is better for your business/software/sql etc, refer to the Prerequisites/recommendations for that product which you will be installing on the RAID.
Thank You!
