RAID utility for Proliant 1850R SCSI Controller

We have a Proliant 1850R running Windows 2000 with 4 disks attached to a Compaq 32-bit Ultra SCSI Controller /P. There are no array controllers in the system. We need software or a utility to manage these disks but everything on HP's cd's or website only has software for proprietary array controllers - nothing for SCSI controllers. We have the drivers for this controller - just need the utility to manage it. Thank you.

Re: RAID utility for Proliant 1850R SCSI Controller

Hi Tribune,

The CPQ 32bit Ultra SCSI Controler/P is just that a 'SCSI Controller' it is not an Array Controller. There is no managment available for the controller itself. The controller will just present the 4 disks to the operating system as 4 disks. You would have to use W2K to create (Software) RAID sets if that is what you require, but I personally would not advise this.
The only management I can think of is viewing the Controller and Disk status through Insight Manager.

Make sure you have cp003193. That was included in the 6.3 PSP. That was the last support pack to include that driver (cpq32fs2). If you load the MS version, you will not be able to monitor an devices on the scsi bus. The link for the driver is
