RAM Config, Proliant ML150 G5
I know this is simple, but I cant get my RAM configured right. The server has 6 slots. I now have slots 1,2,3, and 4 populated with Kingston 2gb pc2 parity reg cl5 240 pin DIMM.
This gives me 8Gb RAM with two open slots. I have a few sticks sitting here, and no matter how I try to add them, the server beeps 7 times and does not boot. The sticks sitting on my desk are:
2x Crucial 512Mb 240 pin DDR2 PC2 5300 Unbuffered
2x 1Gb Kingston dual rank registered DDR2 SDRAM 667Mhz (Game in server from HP)
2x 1Gb Samsung 1Rx4 PC2 5300P 555 H3 (Came in server from HP)
I have the manual with the RAM configuration, and the two crucial 512Mb are the ones I bought for slot 1 and 2, with 2Gb cards in slots 3,4,5 and 6- but it does not work. Anyone know a solution to get the most RAM into these 6 slots with the RAM I got?

The installed 8Gb is all dual rank.
The 2x 512 sticks are single,
and the 2x 1gb kingston sticks are single, the 2x 1gb Samsung sticks are dual rank.

-all memory must be PC2-5300 Registered DIMMs (DDR2-667)either dual or single rank.
-dual rank memory must be populated ONLY ON slots 1 and 2 only, slots 3-6 are only single rank only
-slot pairs must have the same size and brand (1-2,3-4,5-6)

Re: RAM Config, Proliant ML150 G5
So, since I have dual rank 2Gb in slots 1,2,3 and 4- I cant put anything into slots 5 and 6. Which means in order to get more RAM onto the server, I would need to remove 2 of the 2Gb sticks, and then get single rank sticks to put into slots 3,4,5, and 6.
