RAM Instal Gone bad
HI,
I recently added 2 GB RAM (2x1GB) to my DL360 G4 server, which previously had 4 GB RAM (2x2GB). The RAM meets the server specifications and was installed properly. Upon boot-up the memory test showed all 6GB of RAM - Windows only shows 3.50GB is installed (which is what it showed before I installed the extra 2 GB)
Any Idea why Windows doesnt recognize the extra 2 GB?
Thanks

Re: RAM Instal Gone bad
Hi,
you don't say what version of Windows you have. If you only have 2000 Server / 2003 Standard, it can only use 4GB of RAM, and will never see more than that, no matter what you do with BIOS settings and Boot.ini.
If you have 2000 Adv. Server / 2003 Enterprise then it should be visible, you might need the PAE switch mentioned in the link posted by ramesh.
Regards,
Stephen
