RAM Issues
Recently purchased HP Proliant ML350 G5 Server. Had 2 512mb sticks of RAM to come with it. When I installed both sticks, the system does not start, and I believe it was 8 beeps I would get from the system.
I took one of the sticks out and the system started up fine. I then swapped the sticks (still had one in, just swapped the two) for troubleshooting purposes, and the system still fired up. Thus telling me that both sticks were in fact good. The system will not start up with both sticks in a slot tho. What is it I am doing wrong or is there some new trick to installing this stuff ?? BTW, both sticks of RAM are of same type and speed. Thanks for your help !!

Re: RAM Issues
First, check that indeed you have HP memory:
512 MB FBD PC2-5300 1 x 512 MB Kit -
413507-B21
Then, as indicated here: http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12475_na/12475_na.html#Memory DIMMs should go in slots 1A and 5A.
