REBOOTING

Hi

Please advise on how to solve the following problem.

Proliant ML370 Server reboots. It completes POST and starts loading Windows 2000 Server, it reboots immediately. This is not a new server it has been working fine for the past one years.

Configuration:
Proliant ML370 Server Pentium III S/N:8035FD611002. System BIOS P17 ( 06/19/200). Integrated Smart array Controller connecting three 9.1 GB Hard Drives in a RAID5 Array.
The rest is standard.

Troubleshooting Procedure used:

1. Entered F10 while booting , rebooted.
2. Disconnected RAID Controller system.Started computer with Startup Disette, same problem.
3. Removed Startup Diskette , computer remains stable at " Non system Dik Error " but it does not reboot.
4. Tested Memory by removing one ( There are 2 DIMMS) at a time & also changing a slot - same problem.
5. We could not do Diagnostics or ROM Upgarde as it reboots immediately .

Please Assist , we need to solve this problem ASAP

Thanks.

Re: REBOOTING

Seems like you have some kind of thermal issue. I would try reseating CPU and use minimum configuration with respect to CPU/RAM. Please also make sure to disable ASR from System Configuration Utility. Also check for loose cabling. If you need further assistance please call our Tech Support at 1-800-OK-COMPAQ.
