RHEL6.4 on ML370 G4
Hi,
I'm running Scientific Linux 6.4 x86_64 (a RHEL6 clone) on an ML370 G4. To get firmware, drivers, and management software for this machine I found a RHEL6 x86_64 SDR Respository at:
http://downloads.linux.hp.com/SDR/repo/spp/2013.02.0_supspp_rhel6.4_x86_64/
I downloaded the add_repo.sh script and ran it:
sh ./add_repo.sh -d RHEL spp
I can list the availale software with:
yum list all --disablerepo=* --enablerepo=HP-spp
All looks good so far but will this software run on the ML370 G4? This page:
seems to suggest that updates for the ML370 G4 ended with RHEL5.

Re: RHEL6.4 on ML370 G4
Hi,
ProLiant ML370 G4 supports only RHEL 5 below.
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/linux/hplinuxcert.html
From the above link check the Archive tab.
RHEL 6 may or may not work but HP does not certify.
Thank You!

I work for HPE.

Re: RHEL6.4 on ML370 G4
Well, that's a lame situation but I can't say that I didn't know what I was getting into when buying HP hardware. Luckily, I only paid $200 for the machine.

That server model was retired in 2007. The latest firmware updates for the system are still available for download on the support page. RHEL 6 was realeased two years later. Will any of the ProLiant utilites for RHEL 6 run on the system, probably. Were any of them ever tested on that server, no.
