RSO Failure

I have several Proliant 1600's sharing and external storage unit running Compaq RSO. Out of nowhere the Primary experience's a problem ( not a abend, ther is not record of any abend ) and decides to loose it's communication with the external storage unit ( but never fully releases ). The Backup then tries to kick in and BANG we have Primary and Secondary both communicating with the storage unit causing disk errors all over the place.

This is pretty much happening only on Proliant 1600' and ML370's.
I have updated all firmware to no avail. Any Suggestions
PS all Compaq gear!

Re: RSO Failure

Check power source make certain there are no power surges going on . Check cabling , bent pins . Update drivers .

Re: RSO Failure

I have the same problem. It began somewhere after installation of NW50sp5.
Have updated BIOS and everything else. Both servers Identical, only CPQ gear! Having had the Recovery server shut off for a while, I tried again and the Recovery server took over after two minutes (the maximum heartbeat time). When the Recovery is started, the Primary acknowledges it (means contact ok).

Re: RSO Failure

Make certain you re-run the NSSD after the Netware Service Pack . Re-install the Compaq device drivers from the NSSD .
