RSS and TOE enabled/disabled reg setting

I want to be able to programatically check my NIC teams to see if RSS or TOE are enabled/disabled, would anyone know if there is a particular reg setting that I can check to see if it is enabled or disabled? Thanks.

hi

these are the values in the registry
source:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948496

To manually disable RSS and TCP Offload, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
3. Right-click EnableTCPChimney, and then click Modify.
4. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
5. Right-click EnableRSS, and then click Modify.
6. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
7. Right-click EnableTCPA, and then click Modify.
8. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
9. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

also you can use this command
hpnetsvy > nic_survey.txt

that command will get all options for your NICs and will show if TOE RSS are enable using a number 1 since 0 means not enabled

bye

Re: RSS and TOE enabled/disabled reg setting

I know about the Microsoft specific settings you are referring to, I am looking for specific settings where it is set in the HP Networking Configuration Utility. We are working an issue and we have been asked to check the NCU to verify it is disabled in there as well. Just want to do it to a large group of servers programmatically so I was thinking there might be a reg entry. Thanks.
