RSS and TOE

Windows 2003 sp2
My question is, do these registry changes really over-ride the card configuration?
EnableRSS - 0
EnableTCPA - 0
EnableTCPChimney - 0

WHen I look at the NIC properties, it still says RSS is enabled.

as peer procedure, you are missing the restart.

check the procedure

To manually disable RSS and TCP Offload yourself, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
Locate the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
Right-click EnableTCPChimney, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
Right-click EnableRSS, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
Right-click EnableTCPA, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

Re: RSS and TOE

The server has been rebooted. The nic shows RSS enabled. The registry has EnableRSS set to 0 (disabled) I want to make sure that it is using the registry and there are no adverse affects due the the nic setting. Is there any documentation that I can read concerning this situation.

I was told by either Microsoft or HP (don't remember which) that you must do it in both places to completely disable RSS and TOE. Cal
