Raid 1 + 0 configuration on DL 380 G5 servers

Hi Friends,

I have no knowledge on HP servers as i am a networking guy. I have a HP DL380 G5 server with P400 in slot 1. We are currently having 2 72GB hard disk in this Server. And we are running cisco call manager on this server. I am planning to replace this 72GB hard drive with 146GB hard drive. Please find the hardware details of this server

Looking at this output above can somesome let me know whether RAID 6 or RAID 1+ 0 is configured or Both is configured. The reason why i am asking this is I have to do the exact setup in the new 146GB hard drive.

And Can you please let me know step by step on How i should configure the new hard drive in order to exactly match the ones that are configured on my current hard disk?

Thanks

Re: Raid 1 + 0 configuration on DL 380 G5 servers

Do you want to totally rebuild ther server?
= a lot of work.
Or do you want to extend the drives?
= quick and easy, if the oprating system support it.

If you want to totally rebuild.¨
Power down server.
Remove old drives.
Install new drives.
Power on.
The Smart Array controller will auto configure a RAID 1+0 (When 2 unused disk is installed).
Install OS (Smart Start may help you installing Windows, if that's the os)

The other solution is to extend the logical drive.
Depending on how safe you want to play. You may have to do it partly offline.
Or you can do it online, nut you might need to take it offline. to extend windows basic partion.
Without going into details.
Replace 1 drive.
Let it rebuild (automatically)
replace the other drive.
Let it rebuild.
Using ACU (Array Configuration Utility)
Extend Logical drive.
OPen windows disk manager, check that the drive size is larger.
Use diskpart to extend partition.
