Raid 1 add unused space to existing logical disk problem

Hello!

I have a problem with expanding existing logical disk. I had two SAS disks, 72 GB each, running RAID 1 mode. Then I decided to extend disk space, and removed them for a pair of 300 GB disks. After rebuilding array I now have 68.3 logical drive (as it was before) and 422 GB of unused space. I want to extend existing logical drive, not to create a new one (I already have lots of them). So, I studied manual and performed following instruction:

 

=> controller slot=1 array C add spares=allunassigned

 

and received following answer:

 

Error: This operation is not supported with the current configuration. Use the
"show" command on devices to show additional details about the
configuration.

 

Is there somebody have a clue, what the problem is and how to solve it?

You're getting the error because you don't have any spare drives to add into the array. To extend the logical drive to use the additional space you need to modify the logical drive

 

ctrl slot=<cntrl you want to work with> ld <logical drive number you want to extend> modify size=max

Hi,

 

With the current configuration (P400 with 256 Cache memory) The array configuration utility will not allow expansion or extension of an array or a logical volume.

 

You need to upgrade BBWC 512 MB, in order to perform the following tasks:
Online array expansion

Online logical drive extension

Online RAID level migration

Online strip size migration
