Raid 1 with error reading message from windows 2003 server

Scenario:
Using a proliant ml 330 g6.
2 serial ata hot swap discs SAS

Before the logical drive failed, we experienced (and continue experiencing) reading errors in the server. (pop up message
One of the disc needs to be replaced but the disc is not mark as an still working. frontal leds are green.
does the error reading files (kilobytes) will be transfered to the other disc , working fine ? (in other words, will the error sectors be copied into the safe disk ? ) or the sas controller (P400) will avoid tho write bad sectors from the bad disk.
Actually we're waiting to obtain the replacement disc from HP.
Thank you
Carles

Re: Raid 1 with error reading message from windows 2003 server

ok
carles best idea is to use new disk and reinstall from backup, if files are corrupt, everything wil be copied over that can be read
including partial corrupt files , the raid controller does not care if the data it copies over is understood by windows .It just sees data to copy over

hope this clears things up
