Raid 5 on HP 370ML
We have a HP 370ML server with 5 harddisks at the moment. The first two disks are running raid 0 while the last 3 disks is running raid5.
We have another disk (same type and size) that have to be inserted in the server.
I have inserted the scsi harddisk in the server, but the disk is not available in windows. How do I configure the disk so it will be "connected" to the other disks in the raid 5. ?
In Bios or how?

Re: Raid 5 on HP 370ML
Firstly you need Expand existing Array by adding Drive to pool and after Extend existing Logical Drive with Unused Drive
Use ACU (array Configuration Utility) Open COMPAQ/HP system Tools from Programs

Re: Raid 5 on HP 370ML
our existing os is window 2000 server, does it allow logical drive extension??
our server is dated back to 2000, does it support the latest version of the ACU??
If I failed to expand the array, will it affect the data in the existing drive??
Thanks

Re: Raid 5 on HP 370ML
As I said, I want to add this disk to the three raid 5 disks - how Do I do that.
I can upgrade to dynamic disks in the disk management, but I doubt this will be the solution.
