Raid Array Monitoring tools for Embbeded Intel 82801GR
Raid Array Monitoring tools for Embbeded Intel 82801GR
I need to set up some kind of monitoring system for our Raid Arrays in a bunch of servers. Since I am using this embedded Raid controller, this doesn't provide any lights in the hard drive housing or anything, so it is virtually impossible to detect any Raid failure in a setup with more than 20 of these servers.
I am using CentOS in several HP proliant 320 G4. I don't have Smart Raid cards on them, and I am stuck with this setup.
Could you provide me with some help?

Re: Raid Array Monitoring tools for Embbeded Intel 82801GR
Thanks for your help.
The problem here is not finding out if I can load RPMs in CentOS. Though, your response was awesome.
I will repost the question:
"I need to set up some kind of monitoring system for our Raid Arrays in a bunch of servers. What I mean by all that is... What RPM should I use to be able to monitor raid array states or errors without having to reboot the machines?
Thanks

Re: Raid Array Monitoring tools for Embbeded Intel 82801GR
Hi,
check
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=502439&swItem=MTX-38cfced7d749465ba958345e26&mode=3
since CentOS is not officially supported there is no warranty it will install, but this is the tool you need.
You can set mail notification if a problem with the storage subsystem occurs.
User guide :

and just in case default passwords
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c01066686&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=502439
P.s. there is a newer version, but you don't need it on the G4.
Regards
