Hi,
I have a HP DL380G4 SCSI Configuration Kit and 6 HDDs (2 HDDs on SCSI channel 1 + 4 HDDs on SCSI channel 2).
I would like to setup the following RAID setup :
Disk1 on channel 1 and Disk1 on channel 2 should contain OS and should be mirrored.
While Disks 2,3 and 4 should contain data and they should be in RAID 5
Is this possible and with what RAID controller ?
Regards
H.Wilton

Solution
It should be doable with the standard 6i controller as long as you have the SCSI terminator installed on the backplane. When you run the array configuration utility to create your first array select the 1st drive on each SCSI channel for array 1, then the others for array 2.

Re: Raid setup
Hi,
you can consider DL380G4 documentation to ensure that what RAID controller you need in order to have raid 1 and raid 5
