Re: Raid

Hi Lonut,

what is the raid controller? what is the server model?

On Proliant server with smart array controllers, you can create another Array and create raid 0 with 1 hard drive and use it in windows for backup.

FYI... you can not use the hard drive without creating logical a drive connected to any Raid controller.

Hope this clarifies.

thanks,
Aftab

Re: Raid

Two drives could be RAID 0 or RAID 1. 3 drives could be RAID 0 or RAID 1 with spare or RAID 5. Four drives, RAID 0, RAID 10, RAID 5 or two RAID 1 arrays.

Re: Raid

No.. this will not hamper the existing RAID.. you can still have additional HDD for your backup purpose without including into the existing RAID.
