Raid5 question

I have a Proliant DL380 g2 with 5 18.2 gb hotplug drives configured as raid5. If I lose a drive, can I just plug in a spare and will it automagically reload the drive, or is a re-load job from tape?

Re: Raid5 question

just replace the drive and it will automatically do the array configurations.

Re: Raid5 question

You will have to replace the failed harddrive with the spare harddrive and it will automatically rebuild.

Re: Raid5 question

the rebuild will happen by using the data from the other hard drives which also has the partity details and rebuild on the new drive inserted.

Thanks for the confirmation, I thought this was the case but I just wanted it confirmed.
