Random save dumps on GL380G2

We have several DL380 G2's that bug check randomly. We are running Win2k sp3 and Citrix XPa. Anyone had similar problems. We have other server that are not DL380's that are not doing this.

Hello Andrew,
Do you have any third party hardware in the system?? Is the system bios uptodate??

Re: Random save dumps on GL380G2

Hi Andrew,

it would be interesting to know what stop code it is (i.e. a normal BSOD or a hardware NMI error stop code (call your H/W vendor) ) and also are those bug checks always the same ones.

This would be a good starting point and from their on look what the stop code means and if the dump always points to the same driver i.e.

regards, Kris

Re: Random save dumps on GL380G2

I went out to the site and found that there is a new ROM Paq for the DL380 G2 I have downloaded it but it told me that the version of the System Management Controller Driver is not compatiable with Online system firmware udate. So I updated it to ver 5.75 XXXX. I am waiting to reboot the server so I can update the rom paq. Below is the version I am running currently.

Product Name: ProLiant DL380 G2
ROM Version: P24-08/17/2002
Redundant ROM Version: 08/17/2002

Re: Random save dumps on GL380G2

The stop 0x000000B8 is a pretty unusual stop error. Do you have Tivoli Storage Manager installed? Is this machine in a cluster? Or is there a parallel port drive attached to this machine?
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Re: Random save dumps on GL380G2

I agree that this is a strang stop error. No I dont have Tivoli storage manager installed. This machine is not in a microsoft cluster. However we are using a Novell cluster that has caused a lot of problems so we took them out of it. We have been thru all that Novell can throw at us. When you ask is there a parallell port drive attached, what do you mean? It does have a parallel port (not in use).
