Rapid Deployment Pack bl20p g2 write image to bl20p g3

I have a Windows 2003 Std installation on a bl20p g2. If I take the image with the Rapid Deployment Pack, is it possible to restore the image to a bl20p g3?

That's not possible, the G3 has a smartarray 6i controller instead of the 5i in the G2. Windows will crash during booting..

Yes that is what happenned when I tried. I will try to use sysprep -pnp -nosidgen before taking the image and see what happens. Though I will have to rejoin the server to the domain like this and maybe lose some configuration settings. I guess other solution would be somehow to install the 6i driver on the bl20p.

Try running the attached reg file prior to taking the image as I did the same thing and it worked for me.

This worked very smooth. Only ethernet drivers and base system devices needed.

Running the attached registry file before taking the image of the bl20p G2 solves the problem.
