Re-Installing Hp Version Control Agent on DL380 G7

Hi

HP version Control Agent 6.3.0.870 service wont start on my Proliant DL380 G7, i am getting the message "error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly", so i have decided to try and re-install the Version Control Agent,

however it is not allowing me to do this either, when i try to and run the install it tells me an error occured during the setup process. when i try and uninstall the current version it wont allow me to do this either.

i have tried re-installing the current version of VC agent and a newer version but to no avail.

any advice appreciated...
