Read Power Management Module information with snmp or hponcfg?

On the ILO of the first blade you can see very nice information on temperature and power usage of the power supplies (Power Management Module).

I would like to read out these values and graph them with MRTG. Does anyone know how to read out with SNMP or HPONCFG?

TIA

This is exposed through the Rack and Infrastructure Service that is part of the Insight agents that run on the blade. Go to http://www.hp.com/servers/swdrivers and get the HP Systems Insight Manager MIB Update to get CPQRACK.MIB which has all the OIDs you need to read.

Re: Read Power Management Module information with snmp or hponcfg?

OK,

after installing the mibs in net-snmp I can see the temperature and integer value of the current, but I cannot see the power usage.

In the Ilo the current is a float-value but snmp rounds it as integer. The integer will only give me a 50 watt precision per power supply
In a worst case scenario I will have around 600 watt error with 12 powersupplies

Is it possible to readout these power values with hponcfg or other tool ?

Why do you think you need to do this? The power subsystem is self-managing.

Re: Read Power Management Module information with snmp or hponcfg?

1. We are billed by power consumption
2. We want to see relation system load/power consumption
3. Capacity planning of overall actual power usage
4. Manager likes graphs ;-)
