Re: Reboot requires power cycle
We had the same problem, but it was due to a failure in the compaq smart array 221 card. The technical assistance replaced this card and now it works fine.
We weren't able to reboot after three or more consecutive reboots during the installation, when using partition tools and from Windows 2000 AS.

Re: Reboot requires power cycle
I have a 1600 I/ Windows 2000 SC! and had installed latest system ROMPaq. I have NO array controller installed.
I have also installed all Option AND legacy ROMPAqs pertaining to the hard drives.
I have 2 ultra-wide SCSI 4.3 BB drives and a volume set of 3 9GB drives. I have updated all firm ware on these.
I still have to cold boot to reset/ and or shutdown. I have 196 MBof RAM and this machine worked fine with NT4.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
