Rebuild Server
Hello,
we have a proliant ml350 4 / Win2003 Enterprise, with raid 5+1 , and one of the HD was replaced due to malfunction.
We replaced it for a new one but the led symbol in the HD it's not green.
How can I make the rebuild ?
Can I make the rebuild with the server in production ?
I Will not lose my data files ?
Thanks

Re: Rebuild Server
Do you have the array configuration utility loaded?
Check that to see if the inserted drive is doing anything at all.
The rebuild will slow things down a bit but it will not take production down.

Re: Rebuild Server
The rebuild will initiate itself unless the drive is bad.
The acu should give you status.
Where the System Status - red circle with X, yellow circle with !,
the circle with an i should have a number 1.

Re: Rebuild Server
Odd thing is the rebuild should've been running already.
When you mean 5+1, the extra harddrive is the hotspare and that's the one blinking then just initialize the hotspare.

Re: Rebuild Server
I'm not sure but the ACU should at least tell you that it is a hotspare.
The last time I recall doing it is just initializing it as a hotspare and call it a day.
