RedHat AS 4.0 and Proliant DL380 Diskless

Hello all,

Is it possible to install RedHat AS 4.0 diskless on a DL380 which is connected to a SAN?
I'm using a Qlogic HBA to the SAN.

If not possible, where I can I find docs installing RedHat on a BLxxxx server?

Thanks
Eddie

Hi Eddie,

Yes, you can setup PXE boot server for DL380 to boot from. you can copy initial boot image from REDHAT AS4 CD to PXE server and start your installation using kickstart process via NFS.

I hope this helps,

Thanks for the response.
I believe my question was not very descriptive but I want to install Redhat 4.0 / partition on the SAN.
Yes, I can do the initial installation using KS but I want the system files on the SAN. This way, I can create snapshots of the system.

Thanks
