Redhat 7.3 with Smart Array 641 for ML350G3
I would like to be able to make a bootable Red Hat 7.3 image that can access the RAID volume.
RH 7.3 kernel is 2.4.20-18.7.
Any suggestions?

Re: Redhat 7.3 with Smart Array 641 for ML350G3
What I know is that normally Linux CD will not recognise the SA641 controller.
Meaning you won't be able to see any volume for you to install your software on.
You mean RH7.3 kernel 2.4.20 already has the driver for SA641 built-in?

In order to install RH7.3 however, you will need a driver disk. After installation you can upgrade to the latest available cciss driver.
The link to the driver disk (2.4.48-3) is below:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/19862.html
The latest pre-built binary version (2.4.48-8)of cciss is at the following:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/18812.html
After you make the driver disk, you boot off of the RH7.3 CD and use "linux dd" at the boot prompt. The install will prompt for the driver disk. After you finish the installation, you can install the latest cciss binary rpm.

Re: Redhat 7.3 with Smart Array 641 for ML350G3
The RH7.3 based distribution is actually the MITEL SME Server V5.6 which was bundled with HP ML 3XX series servers sold in US/Europe.
However I doubt this MITEL SME distribution is available with ML 350 servers sold in Singapore.
If it is we would certainly order it from HP.
