I have an HP Proliant ML350 G4 server that the HP Array Configuration Utility (GUI) will not run...it appears that a dependent service is not started and I'm wondering if I can just reinstall the utility without it affecting the configuration? I believe I can, but I would like to verify with others.

Re: Reinstalling HP Utilities
Yes, download the latest PSP, and re-install.
It might require a reboot.
When you run the psp, take note on wich tools need configuration, and configure them.
cheers

Re: Reinstalling HP Utilities
I'm assumming I can download this from HP's website. We found CD's for the server:
-SmartStart v7.10
-Software Management Applications (HP Insight Manager, System Management Homepage, System Software Version Control, Performance Management Pack)
-Essentials Foundation Pack
-Documentation
Do you know if any of these CD's would contain the array utility?
Thanks again.

Solution
Hi Bob
It's on the smart start CD.
It's also in the PSP (Product Support Pack)
Just download the latest PSP for your Operating system.
Note.
Ofcourse there allways a risk, when installing software etc.
It is generelly a good idea to do a reboot to see that the server can reboot with no errors before installtion of anything.
And ensure a good backup and emergency restore.
