Remote Insight Lights Out Virtual Power Button Not Functioning
Hi everyone
I have a Proliant 3000 and i have installed a Remote Insight Lights Out card. I have connected the virtual power cable. When i access the remote cards IP address through a browser and try and switch the power off it does nothing - any ideas?

Re: Remote Insight Lights Out Virtual Power Button Not Functioning
Hello;
The PL3000 systemboard does not support the virtual power button feature.
Please refer to the slot-matrix located at http://www.compaq.com/manage/remote-lightsout-server-slot-matrix.html for a complete list of supported servers and which cables to use.
Hope this helps,
Janine

Re: Remote Insight Lights Out Virtual Power Button Not Functioning
Then you might wonder how he connected the VP cable in the first place :-)
On the older Proliant servers, only the PL1850 and 8500 are supported.

Gert Luyten - Compaq ACI

Thanks very much for responding.
One last question do any of you guys know of any device that will work with the 3000 like an RIB that will enable me to remotely power the server?
