Removing seocnd processor on PL 1600

I have a ProLiant dual PII 450 that I am reusing for another task. For licensing reasons I need to remove the second processor.

Do I need to do anything other than remove the processor? Is there something I need to put in the now vacant slot?

Hello Kirk,
No you don't need to do anything other then removing the CPU and then rebooting thereafter.

You can also remove the VRM and use the processor/VRM combo in another server

It shouldn't matter, but you might as well go to the System Setup utilities when you boot the first time after removing the 2nd CPU (F9 when prompted, I believe). Run the system setup just to make sure the BIOS fully records the current system state.
