Renaming drive letters

After I installed citrix i had to rename the drive letters from c: to M:. Now when I try to install some Compaq software it fails during installation because the c: is now m:. Is there a workaround?

Why did you have to change the drive letter the OS was installed into from C: to M:. What method did you use to change the default OS install drive letter? The NT registery has setting for what drive the OS was installed into. When you change the drive letter with the OS disk manager utility, these settings in the registery are not changed. The default OS install path in the registery is used by software installation programs so they can find the WINNT/SYSTEM32 directory where required DLL files for the OS and application need to be copied to. You will have to manually change the default install path for the OS that is stored in the registry to point to the M: drive, if that is where the OS and SYSTEM32 files now reside on the system.
