Replace a 6gb SAS drive member of a raid array, with a 12gb SAS drive

I have some HP DL380P GEN8 servers (653200-B21) with 2x 300GB 6gb SAS drives at raid 1 configuration eatch. Originally purchased drives with servers were HP P/N: 619286-001 and some of them have been replaced with part no: 652564-B21. Is it safe to replace a 6gb raid member disk with a 12gb disk like Part No: 785067-B21 (i have a couple of them)  and mix 6 and 12gbs drives at the same RAID1 array?

Hi There,

You can mix the 6GBps and 12GBps Drives without any issues.

The only thing is the 12GBps drives will act like 6GBps drives to work according to the lower data transfer speed available in that particular RAID.
